Many grandparents struggle to stay connected to their teenage grandkids as their lives fill up with school activities and friendships. Grandparents, we may need to change our approach but we can still be part of our grandchildren’s lives.
Instead of taking them out, we can attend their events, plan shorter periods of time to together doing something they want to do and send quick text reminders to express your love for them. Now more than ever, show patience when their attitudes feel dismissive or selfish. And don’t be discouraged. Our investment in their lives is important and we’ll see the true value of our investment as they mature and grow.
