The Bible says that soft words can turn away wrath, while harsh words can stir up anger:
Proverbs 15:1: “A soft word turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger”
Proverbs 15:4: “A gentle tongue is a tree of life”
The verse in Proverbs 15:1 suggests that a gentle response can redirect or neutralize intense emotions, promoting peace and reconciliation. The word translated as “soft” in the original language can also mean gentle, tenderhearted, or kindly.
Some say that harsh words can escalate emotions. For example, when someone starts speaking harshly to you in a store, your immediate reaction is to fight or flight. However, if someone comes up to you with calm, gentle words, your body won’t sense danger and trigger that defensive response.
A Soft Word Turns Away Wrath..
I had to learn this and studied the scripture quite often until it’s embedded now in my mind and heart as I speak to my grandchildren. I do pray that things will get better with your loved ones. Just remember the scriptures when you talk to them the key is to be consistent once they see that consistency, they will see the change in in you. more so you’ll realize the change in yourself. The change becomes a peace that surpasses all understanding be blessed.

I have a problem with emotional illness, especially depression/anxiety. I feel that My stepdaughter wants to keep her kids away from me, because she wants to protect them from any more angry outbursts toward them or herself. I understand this, however, I am asking for prayer that this year I will grow spiritually in leaps & bounds in such a way that I won’t be a threat to them or her. My wife & I have made some progress over the last year in the way of growing closer to and in trusting each other, however, we need to learn to share the chore responsibilties together more often mainly on my part. Will you Please pray for me that the Holy Spirit will get a hold of me in such a way that I will straigthen up and fly right by a means of going to Emotions Anonymous and life-skills groups so that I will learn to truly love those members of my Married family. I inherited my stepdaughter and 3 grandsons when my wife married me. Thank you.
