My great grandfather was a slave on a plantation in North Carolina. He wasn’t an illiterate man, but he loved Jesus with all his heart and was deeply committed to his family. He memorized large portions of Scripture and passed on his faith to his children and grandchildren, one of whom was my father.
You see, my ancestors were not rich in worldly possessions, but they passed on a valuable legacy of faith to me. And now it’s my turn to pass on a legacy of faith to my children and grandchildren. You see, grandparents, it’s our turn. No matter your financial or social status or position in life, if you love the Lord, you have a valuable legacy to give to the next generation.
