The Jesus Calling series by Sarah Young delves into New Age thought and practices. Please see Justin Peters ministries and Doreen Virtue (a former medium and psychic who is well versed in this topic and is now a believer in Christ). They discuss the issues with these books.
Focus on the Family Adventures in Odyssey series and Chuck Swindoll Paws and Tails audio series are great for younger children and can jumpstart conversations around Biblical truths.

The Bible says that soft words can turn away wrath, while harsh words can stir up anger:
Proverbs 15:1: “A soft word turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger”
Proverbs 15:4: “A gentle tongue is a tree of life”
The verse in Proverbs 15:1 suggests that a gentle response can redirect or neutralize intense emotions, promoting peace and reconciliation. The word translated as “soft” in the original language can also mean gentle, tenderhearted, or kindly.
Some say that harsh words can escalate emotions. For example, when someone starts speaking harshly to you in a store, your immediate reaction is to fight or flight. However, if someone comes up to you with calm, gentle words, your body won’t sense danger and trigger that defensive response.
A Soft Word Turns Away Wrath..
I had to learn this and studied the scripture quite often until it’s embedded now in my mind and heart as I speak to my grandchildren. I do pray that things will get better with your loved ones. Just remember the scriptures when you talk to them the key is to be consistent once they see that consistency, they will see the change in in you. more so you’ll realize the change in yourself. The change becomes a peace that surpasses all understanding be blessed.
